Privacy Policy
ECSupport respects your privacy. This policy explains what personal information we collect when you use our website or contact us, how we use it, and the choices you have. We're a small local business, so we keep this short and plain — and we handle your information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles.

Who we are
ECSupport is an independent computer, laptop and Apple Mac repair business based in Mitcham, serving Melbourne. In this policy, "we", "us" and "our" mean ECSupport. As a small business we're likely exempt from the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth), but we choose to follow the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs) as a matter of good practice.
Information we collect
We only collect what we need to help you. That is:
- Details you give us through the "request a call back" form — your name and phone number (required), and, if you choose to add them, your email, how you'd prefer we contact you, your device type and a short description of the problem. We also record which page or suburb the request came from, so we know where to send help.
- Anything you tell us directly when you call, text, email or message us about a repair.
- Basic website-usage information collected automatically as you browse — see Cookies and analytics below.
We don't ask for sensitive information (such as health, financial-account or government-identifier details), and please don't include any in the form's message box. Our public website has no accounts or logins, and we don't take payments online, so we never collect passwords or payment-card details through this site.
How we use your information
We use the information you give us to:
- call or message you back, and arrange, quote or carry out a repair;
- answer your questions and provide support; and
- understand how our website is used, so we can improve it.
That's it. We don't sell or rent your personal information, and we don't use it for unrelated marketing.
How we hold it, and keeping it safe
When you submit the call-back form, your details are sent to our ECSupport email inbox by email. Our website and email are run using reputable third-party hosting, content-delivery and email providers who process the information on our behalf so we can operate the site and reply to you.
We take reasonable steps to protect your information — the site is served over a secure (HTTPS) connection, and access to enquiries is limited to the people who need it to help you. No website or email can be guaranteed 100% secure, but we treat your details with care and only keep them while they're useful.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiry and repair information only for as long as we reasonably need it — to provide the service, honour any warranty, and meet normal business and record-keeping obligations — after which we delete or de-identify it.
Cookies and analytics
This website sets no cookies of its own and shows no cookie banner, because it doesn't need one. To understand how the site performs, we use Cloudflare Web Analytics, which is privacy-first and cookieless — it doesn't set tracking cookies, build a profile of you, or follow you across other websites.
We also use a small first-party measurement that counts when visitors tap our phone number or "leave a Google review" links, so we can see which pages help people reach us. It uses no cookies, stores no personal information, and doesn't track you elsewhere. We don't use Google Analytics, advertising pixels, or any cross-site or remarketing trackers.
Who else may see your information
We share your information only with the service providers that help us run ECSupport — our website hosting and content-delivery provider, our cookieless analytics provider, and our email provider — and only so they can deliver that service to us. Some parts of the site also load public Google Business Profile content (such as our review photos and a link to our Google listing), which means your browser connects to Google when those load.
Information stored overseas
Some of the providers above store or process information on servers outside Australia — mainly in the United States. This is common for website hosting, analytics and email services. We only use providers we consider reputable, and we ask you to keep this in mind when you send us information through the website.
Accessing and correcting your information
You can ask us what personal information we hold about you, and ask us to correct it if it's wrong, at any time — just contact us. We'll respond within a reasonable time and at little or no cost. We may need to confirm your identity first, so we give the right information to the right person.
Children
Our services are aimed at device owners and the general public, not children. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children without a parent or guardian's involvement.
If you have a privacy concern
If you're worried about how we've handled your information, please contact us first — we'll acknowledge your concern and aim to sort it out within a reasonable time (generally within 30 days). If you're not satisfied with our response, you can raise it with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au or on 1300 363 992. (As a small business we may sit outside the OAIC's jurisdiction, but we handle concerns in line with the APPs regardless.)
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The current version is the one published here, and we'll note any material change by updating the "last updated" date above.
