Google Workspace Support for Small Business

Google Workspace is simple to sign up for and easy to leave half-configured. We set it up and look after it for you: Gmail on your own domain, shared drives your team can actually find things in, user accounts, and the security settings Google leaves off by default. It's available as a one-off setup or as part of a fixed monthly plan from $99.

  • Google Workspace setup and administration
  • Gmail on your own domain, delivered to the inbox
  • Shared drives, calendars and permissions
  • 2-step verification and admin security settings
  • Migrations to and from Microsoft 365
  • Fixed monthly managed IT from $99/month

What we set up and manage

The admin console has hundreds of settings. A small business needs a couple of dozen of them right, and most never get touched. These are the ones we take care of.

  • Gmail on your domain — name@yourbusiness.com.au addresses, aliases, group inboxes like info@ and accounts@, and the SPF, DKIM and DMARC records that keep your mail out of spam
  • Shared drives — company files in shared drives owned by the business, not by one person's account that disappears when they leave
  • Users and offboarding — new staff set up properly, and when someone leaves, their mail and files kept and their access removed the same day
  • Security — 2-step verification enforced, admin accounts locked down, and alerts on suspicious sign-ins
  • Calendars and meeting rooms — shared calendars, room and resource booking, and Google Meet set up for the way you work

Google Workspace or Microsoft 365?

Both are good, and we support both, so we have no reason to push you either way. Google Workspace suits businesses that live in the browser, collaborate on documents in real time and don't depend on desktop Excel or Outlook. Microsoft 365 suits businesses that use the desktop Office apps, need SharePoint-style file structures, or run software that expects Outlook. If you're already on one and it works, it's usually best to stay and set it up properly rather than migrate.

Moving to or from Google Workspace

We migrate email, calendars, contacts and files into Google Workspace from cPanel or ISP email and Microsoft 365, or out of Google Workspace when a business outgrows it. The domain records are switched at a quiet time and mail keeps flowing throughout.

Questions we get asked

Can you set up Google Workspace for my business?

Yes. ECSupport sets up Google Workspace for Melbourne small businesses: Gmail on your own domain with the records that keep mail out of spam, shared drives, user accounts, calendars and the security settings Google leaves off by default. It can be a one-off setup or part of a fixed monthly managed IT plan from $99 a month.

Should a small business use Google Workspace or Microsoft 365?

Google Workspace suits businesses that work in the browser and collaborate on documents in real time. Microsoft 365 suits businesses that rely on desktop Excel, Word and Outlook or software that expects them. ECSupport supports both, so the advice is based on how you work, and if your current platform is working it's usually better to set it up properly than to migrate.

What happens to a staff member's Google account when they leave?

Their access should be removed the same day, but their email and files shouldn't be deleted with it. We transfer their Drive files to someone else or a shared drive, keep or forward their mail, and then suspend or remove the account so you aren't paying for an unused licence.

Our Gmail emails are going to customers' spam. Can you fix it?

Usually, yes. The most common cause is missing or wrong SPF, DKIM and DMARC records on your domain, which tell receiving mail servers your email is genuine. We check and fix those records, then test delivery to the big providers.
