Samsung means AMOLED — and that changes the repair
This is the thing to know about a Samsung laptop. Samsung is a display manufacturer first, and it fits its own AMOLED panels across much of the Galaxy Book Pro and Ultra range — deep blacks, vivid colour, and a dearer, different part from the FHD LCD in an ordinary laptop. A "Galaxy Book" might be a straightforward LCD machine or a thin AMOLED one, and the two are not the same repair. On the Pro 360 convertibles the AMOLED touch glass is bonded, closer to a MacBook, which we will flag before quoting.
The Galaxy Book range
Where your Samsung sits tells us the panel and the likely cost.
- Galaxy Book — the mainstream line — often standard FHD, and the more affordable Samsung screens
- Galaxy Book Pro — thin-and-light premium machines, very often AMOLED
- Galaxy Book Pro 360 / Flex — convertibles that fold flat — AMOLED touch panels, with the glass bonded to the display
- Galaxy Book Ultra / Edge — the flagship line, with high-resolution AMOLED displays
Faults we see most on Samsung laptops
The thin builds and AMOLED panels shape what comes in.
- Cracked AMOLED panel — a dearer part than a standard LCD, and the very thin lids offer little protection against pressure in a bag
- Cracked convertible touch glass — the Pro 360 takes knocks in tablet mode; the bonded AMOLED touch assembly is replaced as a unit
- Lines or dead areas — panel damage or a loosened cable — tested against an external monitor to confirm
Questions we get asked
How much is a Samsung Galaxy Book screen replacement?
It depends on whether yours has an AMOLED panel, which most Galaxy Book Pro and Ultra models do — AMOLED is a dearer part than a standard LCD, and touch or convertible models cost more again. Read us the model code from the base and we will confirm the panel and price it on the phone, free.
Does my Samsung laptop have an AMOLED screen?
Most Galaxy Book Pro, Pro 360 and Ultra models do; the base Galaxy Book line is more often standard LCD. The exact model code tells us for certain — and it matters, because an AMOLED panel is a different, dearer part to source.
Where is the model number on my Samsung laptop?
On the label on the underside — a code such as NP750, NP960 or 950XED. That identifies the exact panel your Galaxy Book uses, including whether it is AMOLED or touch.
Can you replace a Samsung Galaxy Book Pro 360 touchscreen?
Yes. On the Pro 360 the AMOLED, touch digitiser and glass are bonded together, so we replace the assembly as a unit. It is a dearer part than a standard panel, so we confirm the exact display from your model code before quoting.
